Netflix’s ‘Quarterback’ was a hit. The series captured what goes on behind the scenes of some of the best football players in the world, as they prepare and play the most important position of the game. Patrick Mahomes, without a doubt the best quarterback in the league, was naturally the focal part of the docuseries. However, the  Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs superstar revealed that it almost didn’t happen.

The 3-time Super Bowl champion was a guest on the Riggle’s Picks podcast. When host, comedian and actor Rob Riggle asked him to talk about his experience filming the docuseries, Mahomes shared what was the most difficult part of filming inside their training facility.

That means, there was a chance head coach Andy Reid would not have allowed it. After all, their secrets were about to be filmed.

Andy Reid has taken years to build the dynasty that has won three Super Bowls in seven years. Most definitely he would not like the secrets of that success be available to the public. That is why the Netflix crew had a tough time persuading him to allow filming to take place inside  the Chiefs Chiefs facilities.

But it seems all was good at the end. Coach Reid himself became a part of the show, but only after the film crew were advised which areas were off limits.  The Chiefs Chiefs want the secrets to stay with themselves.

In an earlier part of their conversation, Rob Riggle asked Patrick Mahomes about their chances of achieving the 3-peat. To this, the 3-time Super Bowl MVP said,

It speaks volumes that the team, who just won back-to-back Super Bowls, are hungry. The new additions are motivating those who have already tasted success.

The new additions want to win a Super Bowl. Therefore, Mahomes revealed that they are pushing to prove themselves. That is wearing off on those that have been part of this dynasty for a long time. Mahomes even talked about how last season’s victory lifted a weight off of their shoulders.

Now they are taking things a step at a time and not rushing it like the way it was last season. The  Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs have everything to create history, but they need all the preparation and hunger in order to achieve that goal.
